Oh, and then there's the Chance Encounter characters (Azami/Gariyu/Cerrine) you can earn from boss fights I guess that's closest to a sidequest. And then Symphonies are basically crossover Episodes, yeah. Mythos is "after my time" but my perception of them was that they're even bigger than Episodes but added much more gradually (which is a pretty good idea, honestly). I've only done the Miyu one of this type, but I would say the quests relating to the ADs for upgrading her/Ciel/May to 5* are somewhere between side quests and Episodes in amount of content. You might just want to wait on grinding out their AD point rewards if you don't need them ASAP, since related characters give point bonuses and you'll likely get more of the gacha ones over time.įor the other sidecontent.

And some of the free characters just from doing their stories are very worth getting to begin with even at 4*, anyway if you're trying to stay away from the gacha you'll absolutely want those. Some of that being weapons but it also includes how you unlock some 5* upgrades (for free/gacha/main characters, it's all over the place) and even a free character's AS in at least one case. I liked all of the ones I've played quite a bit so I'd definitely recommend checking them out at your own pace as you progress, and doing them can also open access to some other neat bonus stuff after their story. I guess seeing them as an expansion is kinda fitting, hmm, it's definitely closer to what they are. Episodes are pretty extensive sidestories across several chapters (I think it's always 4?) with free characters and an AD (that can be used to grind reward points and light/darkness for the free character) they're a lot bigger than sidequests, to the point that they sometimes have sidequests in their areas.
